After a few months of working from home, many people are starting to consider the longer-term prospect of this. For those who hope to continue to work from home long term, this give a lot more flexibility – one of these things is where they live.
If you no longer have to commute into the office every day, this may mean that you can choose to live somewhere a little further afield and a little more rurally. For some people this may mean moving to a little village, such as Bourton on the Water in the Cotswolds, or for some it is the opportunity to build their own rural home, looking for self build homes in Solihull for example which has the beautiful Worcestershire and Herefordshire countryside surrounding it.
Many people have been opting to do this as there are a huge number of benefits to living in the countryside. Here are a few of them…
Cleaner Air – The air quality in the larger urban areas is a huge problem and is known to cause a lot of health problems, so a move to the country can help to relieve problems such as asthma and ensure you are breathing healthier air.
Lower Crime – Crime rates in rural locations are significantly lower, and a huge reason for people to move to the countryside. You have much less chance of running into a mugger when out for a walk in the country!
Better Mental Health – Rural life is also beneficial for mental health. The slower pace of life combined with the beautiful natural surroundings is a massive help to those suffering with things like anxiety.
